Donation help fundraiser

A tremendous total of £31,064.84 was raised for three wonderful and deserving causes: The Yorkshire Air Ambulance, When You Wish Upon A Star, and Craniosynostosis Research. These funds will go a long way in supporting life-saving services, fulfilling dreams for children with life-threatening illnesses, and advancing crucial medical research.

The Country Ball committee, which was formed in 2010, was established with the noble idea of raising money for children's charities in our region while also creating a special and memorable evening for guests to enjoy. The committee's dedication to making a difference in the lives of children has driven the success of these events year after year.

First Ball

The very first Country Ball was held in November 2012, marking the beginning of what has become a cherished tradition. That inaugural event was a resounding success, raising £23,000 for Martin House Children's Hospice, a well-known charity based in Wetherby that provides essential care and support to children and their families.

Following the success of the first ball, the committee organized their second event in 2014, where an impressive £27,342.70 was raised for Candlelighters, a children's cancer support charity based at the Leeds General Infirmary (LGI). This charity plays a vital role in supporting children battling cancer and their families, offering much-needed assistance during incredibly challenging times.

Now in its third year, the Gala Ball has reached new heights, raising an incredible £31,064.84. The proceeds from this year’s event will benefit The Yorkshire Air Ambulance, which provides rapid emergency medical services; When You Wish Upon A Star, which grants wishes to children with life-threatening conditions; and Craniosynostosis Research, which supports research into this rare congenital condition.

Jars and Bottle involvement

Jars and Bottles was proud to contribute to this meaningful event by donating a selection of glass jars, which were beautifully used as presentation boxes on each table, adding a special touch to the evening’s festivities.

The generosity of all those who attended and supported the event ensures that these vital causes can continue their important work, making a real difference in our community.
